Mushroom Season is generally the Autumn months here where you can find Saffron Milkcaps and Slippery Jacks in the mature State Pine Forests. We still need more rainfall here in Oberon and Black Springs region. We finally received rain last weekend after lots of hot dry weather and a little last night however, the area is still in need of more heavy rainfall. Jenolan State Forest and parts of Hampton have been producing some 'good finds' of mushrooms as this region has received more rain. Call into the Oberon Visitor Information Centre before heading out into the forest if you require more information. We have Brochures from NSW State Forest and colour images showing the 2 edible varieties on our tv monitors for you to view.
